We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Singer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamie, what are you inspired by?
I enjoy traveling the world and being inspired by the culture and people that I encounter. Each piece of mine is one-of-a-kind. I’ve found many pieces at small, local, “off the beaten path” antique shops. When I find a unique piece, I try to learn about its’ history and that inspires the overall aesthetics of the final piece.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The Crown Control story began with my passion for antiques, and the stories they tell. Over the years, I have collected treasures throughout my travels – wearing and changing up pieces by adding a pendant, or asking an artist to add a personal touch. I have harnessed my luxury industry background and creative mindset to escalate my passion into a business. The modern vintage line of custom-made jewelry was born with these timeless pieces hand-selected from all over the world. No two pieces are the same, and every item tells a story with its contrast of an old find with a modern twist. It’s not always easy to find the “perfect” piece, but I love the process of finding the pieces by looking high and low during travels, searching for charms, pendants, medallions, coins, or estate jewelry around every corner. During the COVID pandemic, I have been able to continue creating new pieces by leverage my global contacts who continue to share images digitally of new antique finds.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Crown Control was inspired by the initials CC, the letters of my parents first names, who inspire me by setting an example of how love and the importance of family always come first. They have always inspired me to explore my passion for art and history.
