We had the good fortune of connecting with Isaac Hess and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isaac, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always wanted to be an entrepreneur after and/or even during my professional baseball career. I knew I loved baseball and also that I wanted to be my own boss and make my own way.

Baseball is an amazing game that teaches so much to those that have the opportunity to play it and experience it for some time in their lives.

Having a place to provide my lessons as a coach has always been a challenge to have to work around. Creating CageList has been the solution to my challenge both as a coach and as an entrepreneur.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I think the thing that I am most proud of as an entrepreneur is the mindset and reality that I have been able to create for myself. From the definition of success, to my connection with money, my ambition to create my own greatness, and my desire to stay centered around adding value to the clients I work with and the world I live in. This is at the core now of what I teach my players.

I believe that our paths are built on the way we organize our thoughts and choose to see the world. This is a practice for me that has come with facing the adversity of losing both of my parents and getting a total hip replacement all in the same year, at the age of 19.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In LA, I love everything in Venice. It is weird and crazy and you never know what you will see. Also the beach is there as well as the Santa Monica rings and yoga area which I also love to go to.

Obviously, you have to go see a dodger’s game!

We would have to eat at one of my favorite restaurants also which is Whiskey Red’s or Venice Ale House.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would say that my shoutout has to go to my mom first and foremost. If it wasn’t for her presence, support, and encouragement in my life, I would not be the man I am today and I wouldn’t have the drive to do the things that I do.
