We had the good fortune of connecting with Hillary Gadsby & Wendi Boyden Boss Talks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hillary & Wendi, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The connections that we were able to make and leverage has brought us both tremendous success in our own careers and business. The success of our brand is powered by connecting women to those people and opportunities that help them either launch or scale their own businesses. We have found the formula to that success even through the pandemic. There are many women entrepreneurs who want to start and/or scale their businesses but feel lost and missing community especially working from home through the pandemic. Starting and scaling your business entails retaining coaches and other experts that can run you into the hundreds if not thousands of dollars. These women are so overwhelmed with options that they don’t know where to start, and feel exhausted, drained, and disconnected. They join Boss Talks Network to get everything that they need to be successful in ONE place for an affordable price. They join Boss Talks to feel inspired, driven, and supported by a community of like-minded women entrepreneurs in 10 cities in the U.S. and Canada who have their back. They join Boss Talks for the resources, templates, amazing intimate talks with women leaders that are going to help them build their brand, and to network with women who are just like them and help each other get on the success path and to break that six figure barrier.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Boss Talks is the fast-growing community of passion-fueled, tech-powered women entrepreneurs all over the world empowering each other to break the six-figure barrier. What makes our platform unique is the more personalized approach we take to mentoring and connecting women, and to creating a community where members truly engage with and support each other. Our events and training sessions are conducted in a casual, small group setting with speakers who want to connect individually with their listeners. We put our members first by spotlighting them and their businesses via our membership platform, and encourage them to engage and collaborate with each other and talk about their needs, challenges, successes. This is how we connect with each other on a deeper level and create that true feeling of community.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would have to say Bishop Arts district. There is so much movement in the last few years with fun shops and restaurants to tantalize the shoppers eye or tastebuds. When we can support female owned businesses, that is the best. We absolutely love Her HQ, the co-working space for women right the heart of Bishop Arts District.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Hillary: My mother has always been my mentor. At the tender age of 15, she introduced me to one of the largest casino moguls in Las Vegas who told me that he could introduce me to the fashion designer Ralph Lauren. At the time, I had no idea what she was doing, but fast forward to my last year of college in Paris, I leveraged that connection to garner a coveted interview for an internship with Ralph Lauren in Paris. Since then I have used all of my connections to create opportunity for myself and for others. It’s all about connecting to create success for myself and for others. In my 42 years in this world, I have been able to do just that for not only my friends but this incredible community of women. We have connected them to investors, life long friends, job opportunities and so much more. Anytime I can help propel a woman in her career or business, is what gets me excited to get up in the morning. Wendi: For me, my inspiration to be independently successful is my mother. She showed me at a young age that anything was possible. I also want to give a shout out to my significant other John Hall, and my co-founder Hillary for pushing me for follow my passion and begin my entrepreneurial journey!
