We had the good fortune of connecting with Hilary Barnett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hilary & Leah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Of course! For the last 10 years, we have been on a journey together as a blended family learning, by God’s grace, how to live well both in our immediate family units as well as in our blended family unit. Over time, we began to see God stirring a desire in all of our hearts, leading us to bring our passions, talents, and gifts into a beautiful business venture. So, here we are. Joining forces, bringing budget-friendly, honest, and convenient restoration, repair, and repurpose to the homes of our community as He continues the same work in us daily.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Apart from what we actually do; restoring, repairing, and repurposing, we have a deep desire to both be apart and partake in making a positive impact within the communities we have been placed. One of the ways we do that, is we take the 1st 10% of each job or service we do and pour it back out onto our community. So, when you choose Broken & Healed to serve your home’s needs, know that you are also part of the blessing that we get to give back!

Broken & Healed desperately wants the world to know that with God ALL things are possible. If you were to ask any of the four of us if we could have visioned this 10 years ago, you would have gotten an astounding no.

Our hope is to be visible representations of Christ through our love, work, honesty, and encouragement in our surrounding communities.

Was it easy? No but as He has continued to transform and lead us, we have continued to learn how to work effectively, sacrificially, and in humility each and everyday.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely highlight the Historic Fort Worth/Stockyards and the amazing Joe T Garcia’s
Six Flags is always a win for our families (especially the big kids, aka-our husbands!)
Texas Live has such a variety of food, music, and family friendly events that always make for a great night out!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All four of us truly believe that Broken & Healed would not have even been a thought today apart from the grace and work of God in our blended families life. The restoration that He has brought forth in and through us has been undeniable. Over the last several months, in day to day conversation we started to realize that we all had gifts, passions, and talents that brought that same work to life through our personal homes, our friends and our families. It was the revelation of these things, that we saw God doing something bigger for our family than we ever imagined. Thus, Broken & Healed was birthed!
