We had the good fortune of connecting with GileS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi GileS, what do you attribute your success to?
So far I’d have to say my high energy performances over the past year I’ve taken notes on the classic performance styles of R&B artists over time and for me to bring the audience in for a moment like that has totally changed the reception

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m the pioneer of my sound I call Neo90s R&B. I think the biggest difference is my style, the way I dress and what I bring to the genre with the classic feel and sultry tone, I can set an array of moods for your date night and social setting also although my my music is for adults it’s not vulgar. I’ve found a way to say it without saying it in most cases. Not none of this is easy and honestly it’s easy to get caught up in your feelings when some things don’t go your way so you have to have a heart for this kinda game for real.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ok I’m not the best at scheduling but
Because of my old road job I have come across some neat things. For food my go to’s are Wingfield burgers, Winners bbq and Commerce fork (iykyk)

I prefer bottle over bars but for the social vibes I’d take them to ruins
Or if it were a day just for drinks we could hit juice land
And lastly for hangouts I love mini golf so I’d take them to a putt putt or another round. Also depending on the timing take them to a GileS show lol.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh well in this case I gotta give some praise to the one and only Ki Divine. I frequently attend shows and she was the first person since my reemergence to say “I can assist you I love what your trying to do” and to be seen by someone that was more than empty promises was all I had been needing
