We had the good fortune of connecting with Freda Deamesi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Freda, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?

My definition of success has evolved over the years, but it has changed most recently. Success is not having millions of dollars in my account or owning cars and houses. Success to me is effectively doing the work of God, fulfilling my purpose, and making Jesus proud. The most important factor behind all my accomplishments and brand is God. Without Him, my life will amount to nothing, and I will not have anything that I have now. He picked me up from my lowest point and set my feet on solid ground. He molded me into the woman I am today; granted, I still have a long way to go. My secret “ingredient” is the Holy Spirit because I don’t make any decisions without taking them to Him. He is my advisor, counselor, and teammate. We discuss everything before I take a step or make a move in my life. Each day, I learn to depend on God more and more, and I know to keep trusting Him even when it doesn’t seem to make sense or despite what I will face on this journey of life. Through it all, I know I will continue to see the light at the end of the tunnel after any dark and stormy season if I continue to hold on to God.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a Christian, student, blogger, Youtuber, and a new business owner, learning balance and organization is no longer an option but a requirement in my daily life. My hands are entrusted with many things. So each day, I depend on the strength and wisdom of God to navigate it all. However, I believe what sets me apart is the grace given to me through Christ Jesus. The grace to be effectual and steward each area of my life the best way I possibly can is what makes me the proudest.

My journey to where I am right now has been a journey of going through a process—being uncomfortable, but being willing to learn and adapt on the way there. I understand that there will always be challenges on my way, but I still choose to cling to God because I know I did not start on my own, so I will not end on my own. Getting to where I am now is great, but I know there is still more to do and accomplish. It hasn’t been easy balancing everything in my life, but one thing I learned is that it is okay to put my phone on “Do Not Disturb” for the weekend to rest and recuperate for the week ahead.

I have often thought about quitting and just giving up because I was frustrated and tired, but I am glad I did not. Overcoming any challenge in our lives comes from the source, drive, and motive behind our start. When I feel like it’s too challenging, I often think about why I started, my accomplishments so far, and the goals I am yet to reach. As I have already alluded to, one of the biggest lessons I have learned on this journey is not to give up, but another valuable lesson I have learned is always to keep my eyes on Christ. It can be so easy to get lost in the things we have to do or the small accomplishments we have attained, but always remembering the source of it all, God, is critical.

Our paths may be different, and the challenges we will face may also not be the same. However, the decisions and actions we take will always leave an everlasting impact on our lives. My story, brand, and who I am as an individual are only the doing of the potter of my life, God. Each day I strive to be a better version of myself than yesterday, learning from my mistakes and representing Christ in the best possible way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Although I grew up in a small town, living in the big city has always had a place in my heart. So we would definitely go to Dallas and explore all the different restaurants, museums, and aquariums. I would love for us to try salsa dancing classes and painting with a twist, of course, with sparkling apple cider. We would also drive around and look at the different architectural buildings in the city and probably end the days with movie nights or long conversations.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to Pastor Priscilla Asamoah, Prophet Erasmus Bonsu, and my Midnight Prayers family. My spiritual life has completely transformed these past two years because of them. I thank God and bless God for their lives. In addition, I would like to give my parents, sisters, and friends credit and recognition for their continual love and support. I love you all, and God Bless you! Lastly, a special thank you to Stephanie Agbemaple. Thank you for sticking by my side all these years, being my friend, and always supporting me.
