Meet Estefania Granda | Event planner/ creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Estefania Granda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Estefania, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The best thing about Glam decor is that it awoke a creative side in me that I had never noticed. Glam decor has really given me a purpose and a means to use all the creativity that I was gifted to help clients create beautiful events.

Rosie (co-owner): Stef’s creativity truly amazes me daily. I think Glam decor is as successful as it is today truly because of Stef’s creative mind and passion to create beautiful events.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My sister and I originally thought of Glam decor in 2020 when COVID was still impacting our everyday lives. We noticed a lack in get togethers due to not being able to gather indoors. We initially thought of outdoor picnics. At first, most of our picnics were only for couples or very small family parties like 4-6 people. As things with COVID started to get better, our picnic parties grew as big as 40- 60 people. We have enjoyed picnics as an alternative way of gathering with your loved ones. We then started renting flower walls, which are the perfect backdrops for any party and elevate any photoshoot. We recently started planning and decorating bigger events such as baby/ bridal showers, birthday parties, and many more special occasions for our lovely clients.

I think the most important factor behind our success this far is the creativity that Stef brings to the table. She is able to bring to life every idea/ vision that clients have for their events. It is amazing to see her help others create beautiful memories. I also think another factor is that compared to other event planning/ decor companies, we spend a great amount of time with our clients discussing and sharing ideas about their events. We listen and pay attention to all the details and really make sure we take into account all their wishes an desires when creating and planning their events.

Determination is another value that has contributed to the success of Glam decor. Despite the many obstacles that we have faced these past two years, we have persevered and continued to work hard every day. We show up every day for our clients even when life circumstances are hard. My sister (Rosie), co-owner of Glam Decor, plays an important role in the company as she is the main point of contact and the first person clients communicate with when they have an inquiry. Last year, Rosie faced and overcame a critical health situation. In the midst of the chaos and stressful times in our family, Glam decor was able to still respond to clients and carry out their events. We went through very tough times, but I know that without determination we would not have been able to prevail.

The end goal is to continue to create a company that further serves our community by bringing their visions to life and to also create more jobs for those who are eager to share their creativity with the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We grew up and currently live in the North Dallas area (Mckinney/Frisco). I would most likely start the week exploring North Dallas and move towards Dallas downtown the second half of the week. Mckinney/ Frisco area is about 30-40 minutes from Downtown Dallas. We love this area because not only is it a great place to live and raise a family but it also has so many cool outdoor places and amazing restaurants. One of my favorite places is Downtown Mckinney, it is a great place to just stroll around, eat a great restaurant, see a show, taste a new wine and enjoy the live entertainment. My favorite breakfast/ brunch restaurant is Layered. One of my favorite parks in Mckinney is Towne Lake recreation park, perfect spot to relax, take a walk or ride your bike. Frisco is also one of my favorite cities especially when it comes for entertainment. At Legacy West you will find several bars/ restaurants, but without a doubt, Legacy hall is the best spot as is a European-style food hall complemented with a beer garden, craft brewery and live entertainment. The Star District is also another area where you can shop, eat and drink as well as experience the Cowboys museum. The Yard in Frisco is also one of my favorite places to go for drinks, food trucks and live music.

As we make our way towards Downtown Dallas, my must- see indoor spots are the Reunion tower which has 360 views of Downtown Dallas. Dallas Museum of Art. which is one of the largest art museums in the country and Perot museum which is all about natural history and science (great museum for the little ones). My favorite outdoor places in Dallas is Klyde Warren Park, White rock Lake, Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, and Cedar Hill state park (great for hiking with awesome views). Deep Ellum is one of my favorite places for food, drinks and live music. It is home to over 30 live music venues and one of biggest entertainment districts in the state of Texas. My favorite restaurant in downtown Dallas is Monarch Restaurant as you can enjoy a delicious meal while also enjoying views of downtown from the 49th floor.

– Tiki Bar cruise on Lake Ray Hubbard

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would love to dedicate our shoutout to our parents! Glam decor was born from our childhood memories. Growing up our mom always tried her best at planning the most beautiful birthday parties for my sister and I. All of our parties consisted of tons of balloons, desserts, all of our friends and lots of pictures. Looking back at photo albums, it is so beautiful to remember all the amazing memories we created with our friends and families at our birthday parties. This was the intention behind creating Glam decor Creations, to facilitate our lovely clients create these ever lasting memories from their events. My parents are also small business owners and we have watched them build their successful companies from the very beginning. We have been with them through their failures and successes and have learned so much from their experiences. We would not have taken the leap of faith to start our small business if it wasn’t for their amazing example. They are our mentors and number one supporters as they have always believed in our dreams and goals.
