We had the good fortune of connecting with Dwayne Heggar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dwayne, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Music has always been a part of my life, Ive always dreamed of being at the level of where I am and now the hard work has surly paid off.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One of the good I like in my profession are the places that I go and the people that I meet The same as when I teaching bassguitar lessons, www.bassguitarman.net. As a musician playing in a band like Emerald City, the name attracts various type of people, from professional athletes to politicians to actors and actresses, the same goes for teaching.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are a lot of sites to see in Dallas/Ft Worth. Being a major part of the city one of the things people want when they come to town is great entertainment, thats where Emerald City falls in at.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My success as a accomplished bassist has been a long road. From studying my craft at a learning institution, from performing with many different professional musicians, playing different genres, serving in music ministry for over 25 plus years and being the foundation bassist for the best party band in the country, Emerald City band of Dallas TX for 32 years. I am grateful to have received recognition to be inducted in the Buddy Magazine Texas Tornado Bassist for 2022. This recognition is selected from bass players of the State Of Texas. The Emerald City Band and Deno Taglioli is the big reason for the recognition. Being a part of the Emerald City band has given me world wide notoriety from performing for the President of the United States to being in National spotlight as well as being on local TV. As a part of this, I have gain respect as one of the most sought after bassist teachers in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex.
