We had the good fortune of connecting with Dustin Parro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dustin, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Movies, some tv series, and video games inspire me to do many things over my 33 years on earth, lol! Some include inspiration for: going to San Jose State University, exploring my cooking skills using entertaining cookbooks, reading some novels, etc.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I mostly look back at my about 13 years work experience at Californias Great America as a learning curve and sometime I still enjoy doing. It wasn’t easy at first to get comfortable with the work environment and what’s expected from that job simultaneously. But, I believe to get the hang of what to expect day by day almost quickly afterwards.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I have any cosplayer friends, I’d direct them to the San Jose convention center for any cons to attend.

The IMAX dome at the Tech Museum is another spot for regular movie and educational movie lovers.

San Pedro square has a variety of food and drink options too for the foodie friends.

SAP Center/Shark Tank, where the San Jose Sharks hockey team plays is another awesome spot to go to for sports fans.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Dad is a great role model for anyone searching for positivity and hope for living life.
