Meet Donte (Callmedonte/DJ Dontizl/Donte the realtor) Shepard | DJ/Sales Manager/Realtor/Mentor/Husband/Father/Leader

We had the good fortune of connecting with Donte (Callmedonte/DJ Dontizl/Donte the realtor) Shepard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Donte (Callmedonte/DJ Dontizl/Donte the realtor), Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Expectations are based on exposure and experiences. This means we learn and from sharing our stories. When we step outside of our comfort zones and connect with people there’s a shift in the atmosphere. You have to organically build a network where you are encouraged to grow while adding value to those who pour into you. Sharing my personal experiences not only led to my success but sharing my failures can help someone find success even faster. I’m confident there’s not many people who can operate at my pace and still find peace but it’s possible.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
During the day I’m a tech sales manager for a fortune 500 company. In April I celebrated 17 years with my company.
At night I’m a realtor cover DFW/ATX and Surrounding areas.
On the weekends I’m a professional dj and have been since 2004. I travel nationally and internationally for gigs every year. I’ve volunteered/served for two churches, three school districts, and one non profit. I mentor HBCU students looking to get access to tech sales jobs. Outside of all that I collect sneakers. Somewhere close to 300 pairs. I’ve bought and sold several properties, been a property manager for California clients looking to buy rental properties in Texas, and owned a rental property. I became a licensed realtor to not only have more access to information but also to share that with others. My why is to learn more about the industry and share that with others who might not have access to that information.
The biggest challenge was finding a way to balance it all and maintain a somewhat normal work life balance. I think I have it down. I do all this and still attend all my kids activities, and enjoy time home with my family. My wife and I still workout, walk, and travel together. She’s my plus one and translator for the Mexico gigs.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them on a tour of all the hot spots and a few hidden gems. We would have to hit either a cowboys game, a mavericks game or a stars game. We would go for food in Legacy west, a party night at lava cantina in the colony, venue hopping in deep ellum, lower Greenville and a couple secret speakeasy joints. In addition to food and night life I’m big on immersive experiences like Meow Wolf. I’ve been to almost every one across the US.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly I thank God and my village. My success is the combination of a lot of people who believe in helping me connect with other people. It probably sounds generic but word of mouth has taken me every where. My wife, my Parents, friends and even strangers who share my social media. I’m thankful for it all. Shoutout to all the people I meet across all walks of life who have booked or referred me.
