We had the good fortune of connecting with Delaney Rainford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Delaney, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
– My work life balance has changed in such a huge way not only because I do photography, but I work part time at a construction firm as well as I’m in school full time. I started my photography business when I got my first camera and discovered that I want to help people capture the best moments of their life. By having photos whether it be lifestyle, wedding, senior or business photos, you keep those memories forever. I want people to be able to look back and see that moment in their life and feel happy that they have those images. So I work hard to do well in school, get my part time job time and do photography as well to be able to help capture those special memories!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I got a camera from a close friend of mine and I decided to take some pictures of my family and friends, that quickly transpired when a friend told me I should start a photography business and I decided to! It’s been a year now and I couldn’t be prouder of my business. I have been taking lifestyle, wedding, seniors and more photography and I am so happy that I decided to take the step to start my business. I am a full time college student studying Civil Engineering and I am doing photography on the side, it has truly built me to the person I am. I have overcome challenges by teaching myself when I am not trying to learn in school.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in the DFW Metroplex there are so many options to have fun, and I would take my best friend to Frisco because they have everything! They have the mall, the best food and some of the most beautiful houses. Especially during the holidays, they have the most beautiful Christmas lights that is fun for the whole family!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

Someone that deserves a little credit and recognition in my story is my grandmother. She always kept photo books from when she was young and I always remember thinking how I wanted to do that. I always loved asking her what happened when this picture was taken and loved hearing the stories, because those are the memories that you will have forever. She always inspired me to live in the moment and stop and smell the flowers around you. I am so thankful for her guidance and the love that she gave me.
