Meet De Anna Young | Floral Artist & Event Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with De Anna Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi De Anna, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end goal for me is to always remain a creator. Whether it is through florals, decor, transforming spaces or expressing myself through music. I want to build a career where creativity is not only part of what I do. It is who I am.
Where do I want to be professionally by the end of my career? Oh gosh, that is a good question. Where ever life takes me. Ultimately, I want to run a successful business being creative. I love the creative process of imagining and designing. It gives me a sense of peace, and joy. My work is meant to inspire and give people a sense of beauty, and hope. There is something about fresh flowers it reaches people in a real and emotional way. That is what keeps me going.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bezelbloom is a fashion-forward floral and event design studio known for over-the-top installations, Austrian crystal installations, custom trees, and Texas-sized statement arrangements. We blend interiors, florals, and dramatic styling to create unforgettable visual experiences. Maximalist floral artistry with an editorial edge and anything but minimal.
My journey into this world began unexpectedly during the pandemic. At the time, I was teaching music, but when everything came to a halt. I leaned into something I had always loved: design. My husband is a home designer, so I began studying interior design, freelancing for interior designers, and eventually landed an event design gig. From there, I wanted to do more and flowers quickly became my medium.
I trained under Preston Bailey and spent a full year freelancing with top designers across the U.S. and Canada. Texas was tough to break into at first. There is a lot of gatekeeping in the industry, but I stayed determined and genuinely excited to learn. I had the joy of working at incredible venues like The Plaza Hotel, Park Château, and even the Aga Khan Museum. After all that experience, I came back to Texas ready to create something of my own. And that is when Bezelbloom was born.
I am most proud of the way I stayed creative through a challenging season and transformed that into a career that brings beauty, hope, and joy to others. My biggest lesson? Stay curious. Keep learning and never be afraid to bloom in your own lane. Most of all, create unapologetically.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my husband. He is my biggest supporter and even came up with my company name, Bezelbloom! To all my amazing creative floral friends I have met along the way. From Miami to Canada, New Jersey to LA. You all know who you are, and I am truly grateful for your support, inspiration, and encouragement throughout this journey.
