Meet Dayanna Esparza-Corzo | Improving the lives of others through my artistic abilities

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dayanna Esparza-Corzo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dayanna, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose this career path for a variety of reasons. My profession enables me to take the verbal or visual ideas of my clients and create a look that conveys the essence of what they wish to achieve. Being artistic allows me to create and customize looks for each individual guest. There is no greater feeling than watching a client’s expression come to life. This experience can only happen by asking probing questions during each consultation. And, more importantly, listening to their responses. Doing so allows me to curate a personalized plan to achieve the best outcome. It is not enough to meet my guests’ expectations. My goal is to always exceed their expectations. Furthermore, I always provide my clients not just a look, but also tips by answering all their questions and guiding them through a process for them to love their hair every day! My craft as an artist is fluid. Therefore, I am always studying new techniques, styles, and trends to remain current. Continuing education is crucial to providing the best experience. Being surrounding by others who share my same passion for excellence fosters a collaborative environment. The clients experience begins the moment they phone and walk into the salon. It was fate for me to come across Novak, they cultivate a culture that inspires and supports everyone to always be the very best at what they do. Referred to as the “Service Team,” we all take accountability for always providing the very best, every time.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I focus on the success of myself and everyone around me. I got to where I am today by finding the positive in every situation I come across. The feeling of reaching the light at the end of the tunnel is the most motivating and addicting, which is why I continue to face challenges head on. I am beyond grateful to have gained so much knowledge in my personal and professional life thanks to those around me. I could not have done this without my family and friends by my side being a part of this journey. I adore seeing the confidence skyrocket in my clients after receiving a service from me. Something I embrace is the opportunity to provide gratuitous services for deserving individuals. This allows me the chance to share my passion and create memorable experiences through my artistic abilities. The ultimate goal is to cultivate the perfect look for them. Service to others invigorates my passion. Having this type of mindset does not diminish my professional standing; rather, it does the opposite. Numerous people have done the same for me during my journey and it is only natural for me to give back.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I enjoy all the sights and sounds of Fort Worth! The culture is lively, diverse, and full of options. I can personally show my Mexican culture by having my friend enjoy an authentic taqueria. My best friend and I would likely spend an afternoon at the Modern Art Museum and have cocktails at several of the many local, downtown, watering spots. Fort Worth has so many restaurants and I’m fortunate that my friends trust my judgement. It would be difficult to narrow it down to just a few. We are an adventurous group of friends!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I chose this profession while I was bartending. I was mom of a young son, and I became close friends with one individual. She is the one who believed in me and recognized my artistic talents. She gave me the unconditional support and confidence boost I needed to begin this journey. My friend encouraged me to pursue this path and I quickly enrolled in school. The owners of the school I attended showed me all the ropes. I learned the business from top to bottom. The salon that my friend was working at during that time gave me the opportunity to have a different view of how to provide the best experience for clients. They gave me a leg up by teaching me this profession and cultivating my already existing artistic side.
