We had the good fortune of connecting with Dariel Embry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dariel, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I feel there’s two things that contribute the most to my success. The energy that I bring, and most importantly the community that I’ve strived to build. The people who have elected to remain in my class have helped me build a true family. They are welcoming, and very supportive. We truly have a good time TOGETHER, and when I say we I mean the entire class as a whole. Dating back to before my business officially launched I made it up in my mind the type of atmosphere I wanted to have and worked diligently to make it just that. It wasn’t easy, and there were some bumps along the way but I can now truly say I enjoy being and around my clients and more importantly they enjoy being around each other.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is I honestly just see things differently than most people. I got to where I am by creating my own lane and staying true to who I am. As with anything in life there are challenges that someone will have to endure. Growing my clientele and class to where it is today was not an overnight process. It took consistency and determination for things to become what they are now. The one thing I’m most proud of is how I was able to take something and make it my own. I genuinely have my own style in how I do things, and people have gravitated towards me because of it. At times I’ve felt people have tried to place me in a box and prevent me from being who I am but again I’ve stuck to who I am despite this and I have no regrets doing so.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I recently took up skating as a new hobby………..Roller skating! I would definitely try to convince them to come to an adult night at the rink. It’s just a different atmosphere. I’m never the one that plans itineraries so I would have no idea what else to plan other than that lol. We’d definitely hit the rink though that’s for sure.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to everyone who’s supported me in ANY shape form or fashion. To those who’ve attended class, hired me as their personal trainer, told someone about me, even those who share / like social media posts. I appreciate any and all support and none of it goes unnoticed. With that being said there’s been some people I’ve met along the way that have went out of their way to help me and I will never forget that. Krizia Walker, Candace Busby, Shurnetta Williams, Kimberly Pierce, Senae Dillard, Erica Wright and recently Equonda Jones. I know I can count on them at a moment’s notice no questions asked, they truly wish to see me succeed and they do their part in making sure that I do.

Also you can’t have a business without marketing! I also want to thank all the people who volunteer to be in videos that I film. We’ve done after class videos, and even concept projects so if you’re someone who’s helped me bring any of my visions to life I thank you.
