We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanya Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tanya, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Howdy! So much goes into being a successful blogger and influencer. The daily grind is no joke!
What I have found is most important is consistency. To grow the brand. To grow followers on social media. To get more subscribers to the blog. It all requires consistency! We blog 4-5 days a week from Monday – Friday and post several times a day on all social media platforms.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’ve been blogging/influencing for almost 8 years. That’s a long time in terms of a fairly new industry. When I started, it was all about the blog and the daily newsletter. Social media was just a support system.
Fast forward to 2021… it’s all about social media. Instagram and IG Stories in particular.
My followers that are with me on IG Stories are what I call my ‘Tanya Tribe’. They are really with me. Daily. That’s where I share ‘real Tanya’. What I’m wearing today, my skincare routine, exercise, what I’m eating. It sound mundane but it makes us all normal.
I really leaned in during the pandemic and honed my skills on IG Stories when were were on lock-down in 2020. What I realized is that this was a great way to connect with others. And my followers not only enjoyed it, they needed it!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow, I can honestly say that Dallas and the North Texas area is bountiful with great restaurants, fun things to do and great places to stay and visit. There’s a Dallas City Guide on my blog that might be helpful.
Don’t forget, we have every major sports team, great hotels, and international airport so the beach and the mountains are only a 2 hour, non-stop flight away.
Of special note right now, the State Fair of Texas is about to start. It runs September 24 through October 17 and is not to be missed. Come say hi to Big Tex and have a Fletcher’s Corny Dog!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It is no secret that I have the BEST co-worker and assistant. Her name is Laura Pearson and she has worked alongside with me for two years. I don’t know what I would do without her.
She will shoot campaigns with me, enabling us to cover fashion and beauty from two different age demographics. Brands love this!
She also does a lot of the day-to-day behind the scenes to keep the ship afloat. Laura is a professional dance/ballerina and her training shines through in her work ethic. This is invaluable to me and the brand!
I also have an incredible photographer – Audrie Dollins, who truly makes me shine. We also have a lot of fun together while shooting campaigns.
My website was designed and is maintained by Marc Lee of Friendly Martian. He keeps it all afloat!
And of course, last but not least, my amazing husband Pete. He has been so supportive of this endeavor since day one and my biggest fan. He’s also my travel photographer!
