We had the good fortune of connecting with Dani Culver and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dani, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
For me, success is having freedom.
Ultimately being my own boss and working on things I am passionate about is what I would consider my version of success. Of course, along with this comes being financially independent and stable but I don’t look at success as a monetary value.
I want to love what I do, have the opportunity to choose what I do, and create for myself and others.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I love about creating is that it is always different. My days are never the same and I’m always excited to do and learn something new. I also love being able to connect with others, offline and online. It’s amazing that we as a collective get the opportunity to connect with other like minded people from all over the world without physically being in the same area.
To get to where I am was not easy. It looks like a lot of surrendering and patience. In today’s world focus seems to be an issue for lots of us. But to stick with something for years and not give up during the slow and stagnant times is necessary. We cannot expect to be great at something without sticking it out through the ebb and flow.
I want people to know that anything great takes time. You can’t expect yourself to be a master at something in 2 months, in some situations even a year. Thankfully for us, we are allowed to pivot in our businesses and make tweaks when needed. Because at the end of the day we will always be learning and evolving.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
With my friends coming into town, we would get them settled and relax awhile before heading out to dinner. We would end up at a place like Sixty Vines in Dallas to enjoy our night with a few drinks and amazing food.
The next day we would most likely wake up and make a homemade breakfast of fresh fruit, coffee, and all the good things in between before heading off to Bishop Arts to explore and enjoy our day. There is so many cute spots for shopping and eating so there’s no chance we wouldn’t enjoy the area. Afterwards, we would go to the pool and finish our day off getting sun kissed before making dinner at home together.
Throughout their visit I would definitely take them to the plant shop GROW and probably do hot yoga classes too.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Throughout my journey, my manager, Willie Johnson has always been a huge support for me. I have been interconnected with him and his company (J3 Productions) for years now. Modeling can be a hard industry to get into and it is important to find people who have your best interest in mind. I give so much credit to him for believing in me and pushing me towards bigger opportunities.
Through all seasons of life, Willie has been a great mentor and someone who I appreciate greatly.
