We had the good fortune of connecting with Colton Bideler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Colton, what do you attribute your success to?
Success for me is not defined by how much money I make or how popular my business becomes. I gauge my success by the number of lives I am able to influence or change. Many people encounter limitations to their desired lifestyle because of health concerns. It is my goal to educate my community and empower them to reclaim their health through chiropractic. By identifying what is causing these limitations, we are able to provide people with the freedom to experience life to the fullest. However, this completely goes against what is considered normal in our society today. There is a pill for everything now days. Everyone is looking for a treatment or a quick fix. I have always been rebellious in nature. So naturally, I chose a career that allows me to go against the grain so to speak. Every time someone comes to me for help, every time someone lays down on my table, I am not thinking about what I can do to fix them. My approach is not to address what is wrong with them, but to expose what is right within them. My intention and ability to connect with every person that I serve is what drives my success in practice.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
There is an incredibly artistic element to chiropractic that most people are unaware of. We optimize life in individuals by removing the stress, the internal chaos that interferes with their ability to heal and thrive. Life is expressive. By removing that interference, people are able to express themselves on a deeper, greater level. We are able to expand their level of consciousness and connectedness to themselves and the world around them. This in turn, provides an opportunity for them to better serve their communities and their families, which creates this ripple effect of lives being changed for the better all because someone was able to express themselves at their fullest potential. I think we set ourselves apart because we are not trying to sell people on a particular product or service; rather, an experience. When you come to our office, you are going to be immersed in a healing atmosphere far different than most other chiropractic offices, or any other healthcare profession for that matter, than you have ever experienced before. I am most excited about seeing a dream that I have had for so many years start to come to life. When I discovered that my calling was to serve people through chiropractic, I witnessed miracles happen in peoples lives that were convinced they could never be helped. To be apart of these miracles, these stories of hope and healing on such a large scale, overwhelms me with emotion and gratitude. Getting to where I am today was no easy path. I failed my way to this point, over and over again. Those “failures”, while they may have hurt in the moment, were opportunities to learn and grow from the mistakes I had made. I have heard it said that you will never truly know what it is to be successful until you first learn what it is like to lose. I have learned throughout this process of becoming a chiropractor and opening my own business that you cannot control what happens in life, only how you respond to it. I have seen so many people defeated by the very obstacles that were meant to make them stronger. You have to learn to roll with the punches. Every set back is a set up for a comeback. As an entrepreneur, this is what I signed up for. I did not go into this thinking that it was going to be easy, or that everything I wanted was going to be handed to me. I knew it was going to take a lot of grit, and a tremendous amount of literal blood, sweat, and tears to make my dream a reality. With that, you have to learn to love the process. The end product is not as sweet if you do not appreciate how you got there. My goal is to create a shift not only in how people perceive health, but how they go about attaining it. Freedom Chiropractic is going to be that shift. We are going to challenge the old belief systems surrounding health and equip our community with the knowledge and tools to take action over their health and experience life to the fullest.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Mansfield has the perks of a big city with a small town feel. The downtown distract is full of history and fun places to socialize. We would grab coffee at The Flying Squirrel, then chow down on some delicious tacos from Main Street Tacos. Another favorite of mine is Twisted Root Burger Co. Now the taste buds are not fully satisfied until you top them off with ice-cream from Hypnotic Emporium. I love getting to be out doors so hiking the trails around town is always a great time. Maybe spend the day out on the lake, catching some sun and some wake. I am an avid marksman as well so getting to enjoy time on the range hitting targets always puts me in my happy place. Perhaps hitting up a different kind of range such as Top Golf or one of the several golf courses near and around town. When we are looking to quench our thirst we can grab a seat at one of the local breweries and enjoy some flights, or kick back at the wine bar Poured if we’re feeling extra special. Catching an outdoor movie at Joe Pool Lake or perhaps The LOT Downtown is a fun way to cap the day!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is a long list of incredible people who played a role in getting me to where I am today, from chiropractic mentors, coaches, college professors, fellow entrepreneurs, friends and family. Though, one person in particular stands out above the rest. My wife, Katie, has supported me through the best days and the worst. She has always had a front row seat to every risk taken, each delay endured, and every moment of celebration. Every time I failed or came up short, and there has been plenty, she always helped pick me back up and would encourage me to keep pushing. She has been my rock through it all. Without her, this business, this dream, would not have been possible! She inspires me every day with how she leads and empowers a community of women to take control of their lives and health through toxin free living. She pushes me to be the best father I can be to our two little girls. She envisions with me the endless possibilities of what our chiropractic practice can become and the profound difference it can make in the lives of everyone we care for. Katie has been the best friend, teammate and supporter I could have ever prayed for. I am better because of her!
