We had the good fortune of connecting with Cody Mullican and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cody, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Growing up, failure was a constant in school. So, although I don’t like to fail, the fear of it isn’t strong enough to keep me from trying. When thinking about the risk of starting my own business I look at others and think if they can do it, I can too.

What should our readers know about your business?
My company is a auto transport company that specializes in cross country enclosed transport. What sets us apart from most other companies is our equipment and attention to detail. We do not cut corners and are not penny pinchers when it comes to our equipment. We are really excited to continue to grow into a larger, more capable transport company that continues to reshape the way enclosed transport should be. As a car enthusiast myself, I new I had to buy the best trailers on the market because that’s the way I would want my car transported. That decision made it much easier to get and maintain clients because 99% of my competition go the cheap route on trailers and equipment in general. Every business has its challenges and I am constantly learning to improve and overcome. The main take away I would like people that read my story to have is to not be afraid to try. If a kid that only knew failure growing up could one day figure out how to run a successful business, imagine what you can do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to Dallas, I would take them downtown for the food trucks. Hike at Arbor Hills. Dirt biking at Village creek. Go shooting at one of the outdoor gun ranges and race cars at Motor Sports Ranch, Cresson.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would be nowhere without the help, love and support of my wife, Amel. Even at the beginning when things were tough and the future was unknown, she was by my side and never doubted me. Even though she had her full time job as a realtor, she helped me every chance she could.
