We had the good fortune of connecting with Claudia Revilla and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Claudia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
“My inspiration for starting my own business came from my love for Christmas, something that has been very special to me since I was a child. Growing up in Mexico, my family and I would always decorate our home with care; it was a tradition that brought everyone together, and every detail was filled with love and joy.

When I moved to Dallas, I realized how much I missed those traditions and the meaning they hold in our lives. I decided to bring that same magic to others and help them create spaces that not only look beautiful but also feel like a true home during the most special time of the year.

Today, through @xmasbyclau, I have the chance to share my passion for Christmas decorating and to make every corner of my clients’ homes a place filled with joy, warmth, and unforgettable memories.”

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

My business, @xmasbyclau, is all about bringing the magic of Christmas into people’s homes and businesses. What sets us apart is the personal touch and deep care we put into every tree and decoration. I work closely with my clients to understand their vision and create something truly special—whether it’s for a cozy family Christmas or a grand holiday display.

Starting this journey was both exciting and challenging. Moving from Mexico to Dallas was a big change, and turning my love for Christmas decorating into a business was a dream that came with its own set of challenges. One of the biggest obstacles was learning to build a brand from scratch and connect with a new audience. But I stayed focused on my passion, adapted to each challenge, and learned to trust the process, embracing the lessons along the way.

I’m most proud of the trust my clients place in me and the joy I get to bring them. Seeing families gather around a tree I’ve decorated, knowing it will be part of their cherished memories, is the greatest reward.

Through this experience, I’ve learned the importance of resilience, authenticity, and the power of community. I want the world to know that @xmasbyclau is more than just holiday decorations—it’s about creating moments of joy, magic, and connection. My story is one of following a passion, working hard, and being inspired by the people I love most. I hope to bring a little more warmth and wonder to each holiday season.”**

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

If a friend were to visit Dallas, I’d take them to experience the best of the city. We’d start the day with a delicious breakfast at Yolk or Oddfellows, and then explore the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA). After that, we’d relax at Klyde Warren Park.

We’d head to the Bishop Arts District to enjoy its art, shops, and the amazing BBQ at Lockhart Smokehouse. I’d also take them to The Sixth Floor Museum to learn about JFK, then we’d head to Fort Worth to experience the Texan spirit at the Stockyards and enjoy a meal at Joe T. Garcia’s.

In Deep Ellum, we’d enjoy craft beers and live music, and have dinner at Pecan Lodge or Nori Handroll Bar. For shopping, we’d visit NorthPark Center and then relax at the The Joule Hotel spa. For dinner, The French Room would be the perfect choice.

For a fun night out, we’d check out The Rustic or Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth. If we’re looking for something more relaxing, we’d spend the afternoon at Grapevine Lake and have dinner at Esparza’s Mexican Restaurant & Cantina.

We’d finish the experience with an incredible view of Dallas from the Reunion Tower. This itinerary is the perfect way to enjoy the culture, food, and entertainment that the city has to offer.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

My special mention goes to the most important people in my life: my husband Octavio and my children, Nicole and Patrick. They have been my constant inspiration and support every step of the way. Without their love, patience, and encouragement, I wouldn’t have had the courage to follow my dreams and turn my passion for Christmas decorating into a business.

Octavio has always believed in me and supported me through everything, and my children, with their enthusiasm and joy, remind me every day of how beautiful it is to create spaces filled with magic and love. This journey wouldn’t be the same without them; they are my greatest motivation and my reason to keep growing.
