We had the good fortune of connecting with CC Lyons and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi CC, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
I have two favorite quotes, from previous mentors, that have always stayed with me: The first: “Don’t be afraid to fall in love with something that you never thought you would.” (Being able to take a path that may not have been on your original plan.) This one took a while to sink in, as it was about being flexible and understanding the results we seek to a plan may take a different path to get there than expected The second: ” You can always choose the lesser of two evils, just can’t call it good.” – This one always hits home when it comes to making choices and being truthful within on the choice and the understanding to why I am making the choice. Own it and can’t label it something that it never was. Both of these allowed me the freedom to explore my truths, write and publish a book on a taboo topic in a very open and honest manner.
Please tell us more about your work. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I was inspired to create Alpha Female Unleashed: From the Boardroom to the Bedroom not only due to her own life’s journey, but by recognizing that there were others that carried distinctively aligned behavioral patterns, mindsets, beliefs, and experiences resulting in mirrored journeys. She decided to gain insight and stories from both men and women on the subject matter and put forth a revealing best seller. My leadership spans male dominated fields within various large corporations. I have undergraduate and master degrees in both technical and business respectively. She has achieved success in corporate America. No one does it alone, it took mentors, champions, and a great foundation set by my upbringing that has allow me to have the tenacity to face challenges head on and be able to ask for help, listening to sound advice, continuing to maintain confidence in myself. My brand is of authentic leadership, personally and professionally. I enjoy inspiring, motivating, and creating successes for companies and people.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The people that deserve the shout outs are the interviewees that believed in the vision of exploration of the taboo topic, my mentors, friends, family, and the critics.
