We had the good fortune of connecting with Cathryn McHenry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cathryn, what principle do you value most?
Freedom is a value that drives everything I do. So much of my past was spent in bondage to trauma and lies and power hungry people. I had to fight to find freedom and healing. Now that I have that, I want others to have it too. I don’t just fight for myself now. That’s why I started my coaching business. I wanted to create an avenue that didn’t just give financial freedom to me and my family, but that also brought practical skills to the general public; skills that can help them clarify their own values and goals and help them reach their full potential. I’m bringing skills that improve relationships and foster fulfillment. Talk about freedom!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My journey started as a licensed marriage and family therapist. I discovered along the way that I enjoy working with groups of people and igniting a fire of passion and purpose in them through workshops and seminars. So, I began creating curriculum that was easy to use for people who had never gone to therapy. I started putting together workshops that help people hone in on beliefs and skills that haven’t been developed, causing them to feel like they hit the proverbial glass ceiling. I believe so much of our discontent in life stems from not knowing who we are or where we are trying to go. While healing trauma is definitely vital for many people, there is a whole group left neglected. The group of individuals trying to discover who they are, where they’re going, and how they’re going to get there; individuals who are looking to maximize their results and deepen their relationships and impact on the world. This is why I created Asatti Coaching and Consulting. Asatti means connection, and I believe that knowing how and where to connect is the key to success.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Asia Times Square in Grand Prairie would definitely be one of our stops because they have the best Thai food in the area, not to mention boba. Then we would head to Hotel Vin in Grapevine to enjoy some live music and walk around the local area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dr. Kathryn Short has been a huge influence and supporter of mine. She has spent countless hours helping me clarify my vision and how I want to impact the world. Her example has shown me that women are powerful and capable of doing anything.
