We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlos Vincent Steele and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carlos Vincent, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process was clear. For me it is a way of life doing Photography and doing so as a business. In order to provide for my family, have the freedom i desire for a quality of life i want, Self employment was the best option. Coming from a family of Entrepreneurs it felt as the natural thing to do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a huge fan of Black & White Images. I shoot in Black and White and a majority of my work you may see will be Black & White Images. I am most proud of my desire to want to learn more, about my craft and that every day the desire increases. Learning photography was easy, mastering my style, my eye, what I want and desire to capture was not easy. Running photography as a full time business is not easy, it is a full on challenge. The main thing i overcame was fear and self doubt. My greatest lesson is “I am the Best me and that is good enough!” I have never had the desire to be like anyone else or any other photographer. Just do me and do me well. Understanding that i control what i capture and the vision of the portrayal of my Art & Eye.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Yeaaaaa so i am a introvert! lol. I would for food go to Pappadioux Sea Food, or my wifes kitchen. I would show them around downtown Dallas, maybe hit up North Dallas for shopping at the Allen outlets. Arlington is Fly! We could go see the stadiums as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have had several mentors on my journey. My biggest support is my wife Tracey Steele who as well as myself is an entrepreneur. She owns Fairy’s touch Sugar Scrubs here in Dallas Tx. Just to name a few, Dallas J.Logan, Dae Howerton, & Stevie Reid of Vision Light Studio have been instrumental in my growth process as a photographer. Locally here in Dallas i spent a lot of my time with Greg Daniels, who is an amazing photographer. Next to my wife my biggest supporter is my niece Kim Kearse-Lane who was a Super Model for Ebony Fashion Fair.
