We had the good fortune of connecting with Camille Rios and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Camille, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a makeup artist, it is essential for me to make my clients feel unique, empowered, sexy and make them feel that each one of them has a beauty that is not just superficial! That we are all beautiful and that is why I felt the need to start in this world of makeup, enhancing their beauty is a task that makes me feel alive!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In every brush, in every face that I make up, I try to see the soul of my clients and not only in the physical, I also see their looks and their gestures, and I think that sets me apart from others because I do not see this as how I work but as my passion, my religion and my safe place and I feel very proud of where I am today! I try every day to grow as a person and professionally to be the best, not in the eyes of others but for myself. I am my own challenge! I started in the world of makeup in 2018 working on how to stylize in photography and I had a connection when I saw other makeup artists highlight the beauty of models and I have always been creative and since that year I have been happy, with study, effort and dedication! It has not been easy, it is a competitive world but you have your essence and it is what attracts the attention of clients, each one works in their own way and has their own magic. Every day is a teaching, a learning and I am improving in my techniques and my person! I want people to take away from me my humility, my love for what I do, my perseverance and that we can all fight and achieve those dreams. I am a person who has fought a lot and who has had a hard time as an immigrant, but I know that my family is more than proud of me and that is what matters most to me!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a city person and I love downtown Dallas, walking, looking at the buildings, so I would take them there and then eat some delicious tacos or barbecue, something very Texan, and they would fall in love with this city…

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate it to the women in my family, especially my mother and grandmother… but I think I am here thanks to every client who has trusted my work! That is why I am and will always be grateful!
