We had the good fortune of connecting with Bethany Zamaripa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bethany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I had the experience and love for dancing and teaching my whole life. After having my first son in 2019, I wanted to stay home with him while perusing my passion for dance and teaching. This is when I discovered Zumbini. Zumbini was created as an early childhood program by Zumba and Baby First. Not only did Zumbini allow me to continue dancing and teaching, but it also help me create an incredible bond with my new baby. As my classes began to grow, I had families reach out to me for their older children and for adult classes! I then continued my training with Zumba, Zumba Kids + Kids Jr.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I first started teaching Zumbini and Zumba, I had 2-3 students in my class. I felt discouraged and just hoped that these few families would love my class so much and tell their friends. That’s exactly what happened! I’ve always been proud of my energy and excitement that I bring to every class. This was always what everyone loved about my classes. I made it fun and exciting! I love getting to know my students and create a bond with them. Being able to make a positive impact on their lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Fort Worth, my favorite places to take visitors is to the stock yards and water gardens! In Dallas, I love going to Deep Ellum. There are so many amazing restaurants at all these locations and I’m not done trying them all!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe so much to my husband, Matt. I couldn’t have done it without his love and support. He has encouraged me to follow my passion for dance and teaching. When I was scared to go to all the trainings, not knowing what to expect, he was there to give me a little push and words of encouragement. He’s been my number one fan since day one!
