We had the good fortune of connecting with Bella Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bella, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
The most important thing I’ve done as a parent is accomplishing my goals! You know still making my dreams a reality. I hear so many stories, especially with women, on how they’ve put their careers and dreams on hold because they’re now mothers. I wanted to do the opposite. I wanted to show my daughter that while it is difficult as a single parent (Her dad lives in Denver but is very involved in her life) that the 2 can coexist! It’s definitely going to take finding the right tribe, being disciplined, having boundaries, and scheduled self-care, but living your career dreams and being a mother can be done. The journey becomes a teacher for both you and your children, and the benefits are priceless!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always loved the arts in general, but acting is my 1st love since a kiddo.

Acting really allows me to explore life from a different lens. It’s made me more empathetic and observant to people. The art itself is one of my favorite relationships I have. But the politics of the industry is a different story. My journey has had ups and downs. The industry is full of rejection, so it does help you develop thick skin. Living in Dallas just like any other city it has its own acting community and it’s not always easy to break into those smaller communities. But I’ve been blessed to work with some great Directors, Writers, Actors, Stylist, etc and really made genuine connections with them. I actually have a new film “The Cure” coming out soon! I also just wrapped on a different film in Houston in March, that film is in post-production. Definitely stay on the look out!

Me becoming a Fitness Health Coach happened during the beginning of the Pandemic. I gained weight and also was struggling with depression. Once God blessed me with the tools to get right physically and mentally, I was like “this is too good not to share” and that’s how Bodied By Bella was birthed!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ayyye say lol my best friend is the planner! Whenever I need to go somewhere, I hit her up…. But let’s see if she rubbed off on me a lil bit

First night in from traveling she’ll probably be a little tired and hungry. So 1st spot would be to go eat. I’d take her to Pangea. Some other food spots I’d take her throughout the week are Kai, Tulum, Kiss, Eb and Flow, The Owners Box and Serious pizza!

We’’d definitely have to hit up a cigar lounge and a day party! I’d close the week off with a spa day at The Spa at the Crescent and dinner at Nobu!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have a beautiful tribe of women that hold me up and accountable! My tribe consists of my sister, best friends, cousins and my beautiful daughter! They have all individually and collectively helped me. When I was short on cash for books, gas, rent etc they were there. When life gets too hard mentally they encourage me and provide a safe space for me to cry or vent. They all pray and celebrate with me! Without them I would not have survived!
