We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Grimmett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes]. (James 1:17) This scripture humbles me & also reassures me where my gifts and creativity come from.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The style of art that I do is abstract art or freestyle art. It allows me to freely express my creative vision. What sets me apart is: I know my niche and my audience. I’m proud of some great accomplishments and brand collaborations that my career has brought me. I made it in my career professionally by getting licensed, taking continuing education, mentors, perfecting and practicing on my craft and always allowing myself to be teachable. There’s always room for growth and you can never learn too much! It’s very important to have a humble & teachable heart if you want to be successful in anything that you do. There’s always challenges and the fear of failure when you take that leap of faith when starting a professional business. Where there is opportunity there’s always opposition. Overcoming those challenges requires alot of faith, prayer and putting God first in all that you do. What I want them to know about my story is: that whatever gift, dream, vision or talent that God (our creator) placed inside of you it can be accomplished! Believe in yourself and the vision that’s inside you. “Someone’s opinion of you is not your reality” -Les Brown
