We had the good fortune of connecting with Aniya Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aniya, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I knew this was something I always wanted to do for some years. I knew it would be way different than a 9 to 5 job. There wasn’t going to be anyone to tell me what to do and when to do it.. So I had to realize all the ins and outs of basically being my own boss and running my own business even though I’m under a broker.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Started the process of becoming a Realtor was not easy. From paying hundreds of dollars just for the courses alone, to stressing myself out taking the courses. Those courses were full of information and tests that you had to complete before moving on to the next. Once completing the courses, then came the exam process. Which means more money was coming out of my pockets. It took me 5 attempts to pass my exam! Yes, it was upsetting and stressful seeing the word “FAIL” 4 times on my score report. But, I never once gave up. I knew being a Real Estate Agent was my passion and no matter how much time, money, and effort, I was not giving up. I knew other people were going through the same thing as me and even failing more than I was. A lesson that I had to learn was, if becoming a Real Estate Agent was easy, everybody could do it. I want everybody to know, even though it may be thousands of Realtors out there, I’m a Realtor who is going to take care of you, your family, and your real estate needs. Most people are out there are only in this business for the money. This is something I’ve always dreamed of, making people happy! Knowing myself and my business can change someone’s life whether it’s for a couple minutes or the rest of their life makes me feel amazing.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There’s so much to see and do here in the DFW. I would definitely take my best friend to downtown Fort Worth during the evening just because the different fun spots, plus we would take so many pictures and videos. Also I would take her to Frisco. I really enjoy going out there with family and just enjoying each other’s time. Then of course, I love to eat so whatever sounds good, we’re going! I feel you don’t always have to be out at clubs, bars, etc. to have fun as long as we’re enjoying each other’s time, we can make the best out of anything.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My brokerage JP & Associates Realtors, my family, friends, and boyfriend.
