We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Gayle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In all honesty there was not much of a thought process. For years I dreamt of opening my own clothing line. However, previous circumstances prevented me from doing so. After removing negativity from my life I knew that it was the right time to open Shop Lunagayle. Starting your own business is hard. It requires a daily renewal of belief in yourself. Had I opened Shop Lunagayle when I was engulfed in negativity I can’t say that I would have stuck it out. So I suppose my thought process was simply asking myself, “Is this the right time?” and when I was finally able to say yes, I just did it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a 21 year old clothing shop owner, and I could not say that with a bigger smile on my face. Being able to do something you are proud of is a feeling you cannot describe. I am beyond excited for what my future holds in my brand. Where my shop can take me in the next 10 years is unlimited. I didn’t get to where I am in my brand with out having my self confidence in knowing that I am on the right track to success. It is never easy taking a huge leap into starting a business at my age, learning to stay true to what I want my brand to be and keeping out any doubt in myself. It’s important to understand the market saturation, and where I am located there was not a market for my line and style – Modern Romance. One of the lessons that I learned is that it’s not about attracting every customer, but attracting the right customers. I would want the world to know our mission: Shop Lunagayle strives to bring the feeling of confidence and beauty to her customers.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmmm, I am a major coffee enthusiast. The Foundry Art District is always a fun place to visit. The Trinity Coffee House is in my top favorites. Being able to grab coffee and enjoy some art is always a great time for me. Speaking of art, a museum is my next place to go! The Van Gough exhibit opens soon in Dallas and you know I will definitely be there. As a new 21 year old, I have found that my choice of drink is a refreshing margarita. When the sun goes down, it’s time to hit the town. We go to The Old Town Brewery in Burleson. Going out with friends is a great way to end the day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All of my love and thanks goes out to my parents, grandparents, siblings and friends. Without this amazing support group I would not have had the courage to pursue my dreams. Kayleigh Nichols, you mean the world to me. You have been by my side believing in me when I don’t even believe in myself at times, and this would not have been possible without you.
