We had the good fortune of connecting with Alissa Mersman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alissa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’m extremely passionate about hair as well as self love and really wanted to share that with women all over the world. I’ve been working with hair for 10 years and I noticed that in a saturated market so many woman were still struggling with hair. I want to make sure every woman looks on the outside as beautiful as they are on the inside!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our company prides itself on understanding everyone is uniquely And beautifully different! I’m most proud of our ability to customize any hair piece to our customers needs, you can pick and choose any texture, length or color you would like and we can customize it for you. I worked in Los Angeles as a freelance hairstylist for a few years which is where I fell I love with braiding as well as wigs when I moved to Dallas I incorporated extensions into my wheelhouse and found a passion for my own business. Nothing in life that is truly worth it will come easy, but it’s in hard times that you build your foundation of your character as well as your passion and drive and it’s those things that will push you through any and all obstacles. I want my business to enrich people’s lives! Hair is a powerful tool as well as a beautiful expression of creativity and I want to give that back to the world.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I love Addison proper for food. You name it and Addison has it! For night life, bar hopping and some amazing speakeasies Deep Ellum is definitely a must! One of my favorite spots is High & Tight barbershop! They have drinks you won’t find anywhere else as well as different live bands hidden by a secret door! I love the museums in Dallas, their are so many! Art, history you name it! I’m an outdoors person so I would definitely take them to white rock lake, rent some bikes and bike around the lake and have a picnic. I’m still learning about Dallas but so far these are my favorites!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest motivator and inspiration in life will always be my mother, Darla! From the time I was born I watched my mom Conquer the world. She went from having nothing to owning her own successful private practice, then she took that knowledge and and traveled the world doing PTSD therapy for our military. She always told me, when someone tells you no it just means try another way, never give up. To this day those words hold strong and keep me going!
