We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Holley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in Fort Polk, La. I grew up in Boston, Ma with four other siblings. I grew up in a single parent home and my mom worked multiple jobs. Eventually My mom moved us back to Louisiana. Eleven months later I lost one of my brothers. My mom always sure we were healthy, safe and taken care of. No matter how hard things were or how tired she was. So as an adult , I try to carry the traits I saw in her as a child. I give with a pure heart and true intentions. I keep an open mind when it comes to others and I never make promises I cant keep. Even though life has its own twisted way of playing out I believe the best is yet to come!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I got my creativity from my mom! I don’t think there’s anything I cant do pertaining to art. I’m excited about the relaunch I have coming in January! Same great scent just a new urban look. Professionally I’ve gotten to where I am today because I never gave up. It wasn’t easy, many days went to a lot of hard work and research. Along the way I’ve learned that there’s no short cuts, Sometimes it is about who you know and being confident can take you a long way. I would like people to know there’s a more eco-friendly and cheaper option than bath and body works or Yankee candle

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Were definitely going to Deep Ellum! There’s lot of restaurants in Dallas worth trying. Kitchen+Cocktails, Kiss and Southern Table, margaritas at Beto & Sons, Coffee at Soiree’! Surprisingly I love science so visiting the Perot Museum is must!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I read once where some one stated your family wouldn’t be your biggest supporters…Well mine were when I started my company and they still are! To everyone who believed in me even when 5th&Holley wasn’t even 5th&Holley #IYKYK. Most important I want to dedicate this shoutout to My Grandma (My Angel) Dorothy Fox who never hesitated to let me know that my candles stank pretty good!
