We had the good fortune of connecting with ALEJANDRO LIMÓN and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi ALEJANDRO, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The first wedding I did was my brother’s, without dedicating myself to that. After that wedding I began to consider doing this as a side buisness, but few months later and putting on scale my work that I had at that time with the wedding market, I realized that it could be a successful path and that it also filled me with satisfaction.
At that time I decided to associate with a friend, quit our jobs and dedicate ourselves fully to this new business. With a lot of persistence, dedication, responsibility and energy, today, almost 5 years later, Alejandro Limón consolidates itself as an important wedding and events company.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think that each wedding planner has a very peculiar and admirable style, it seems to me that what differentiates my style is that in each wedding, in each project, I try to convey the personality of the couple combined with my style. To achieve this I have an interview with the couple where I get to know them more and get the insights that will lead me to get ideas for the design of their wedding.
Starting your own company is never easy, it involves many challenges and sacrifices, for example, wedding planners have very few free weekends for our personal plans and few days off in peak wedding seasons. But as long as you do everything with passion, understand that it is an art, and commit yourself, each day will be fun and magical instead of heavy and tiring.
In ALEJANDRO LIMÓN we take care of exceeding expectations in the planning and design of you event. Our goal is to merge design, inspiration, venue, and you dream to transform it into a unique an unrepeatable moment, resulting in a perfect experience.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In my city there are too many things to see and admire with exquisite places to eat. Without a doubt, I would start by taking my friend to breakfast some good chilaquiles from Maque, then we would take a bike and tour Polanco and Reforma, stopping at museums such as the Soumaya, the Museum of Popular Art, and the Jumex Museum. We would rest eating some tuna toasts and a good michelada in Entremar.
The party in Mexico City never stops, so I would take my friend in the afternoon to Casa Prunes for a few drinks, maybe to Jardín Paraiso or República if he feels like dancing and we ended up with an after party in Phonique.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother, it may sound a bit cliché, but it is true, she is the one who pushed me to always seek everything that would give me peace, satisfaction and above all make me happy. She has always told me that we come to this world to be happy and what better way than doing what we want and loving whoever we want. Thanks to the strength that she gave me, I faced many obstacles, I never gave up and I was able to verify that everything she tells me is completely true.
