We had the good fortune of connecting with Aleisha Kennedy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aleisha, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
I would say that the most difficult decision I ever had to make was quitting my day job and dedicating myself “Full Time” to my business. It was most difficult because all I have ever known, was to work a 9-5 job. Everything after that was simply considered extra..!! Well the “Extra” began to out weigh the “norm” if that makes sense..!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a professional Loctician and Barber. I am most proud of how far I have come but not forgetting how far I have to go. The journey has yet to be easy but it has all been so worth it. I can honestly say that I have some of the most wonderful, unique, motivated clients that one could ask for. From my youngest client who is age 3(three) but yet full of so much life. To my oldest client who comes in and drops all types of powerful knowledge on me. Getting here took dedication and great customer service lol. It wasn’t the easiest but it wasn’t hard by far. I’ve learned that a great attitude, perfect energy in a nice and friendly atmosphere is perfect for the clients. I would like for the world to know that Stink is The “BEST” Loctician in Dallas, one of the best Barbers in Dallas but coming for the best in that too.!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If bff was coming down to Dallas (before this pandemic) for a visit we would start by going downtown to my favorite spot Nola, they have the best fried shrimp.! Dave and Busters would have to be a for sure stop, for the good drinks. My preference would be an Amaretto Sour. Also to the play the games and some basketball. Downtown Dallas has some rental scooters and bikes that you can ride and tour the city lights. Bff would of course have to stay the week at my casa so that my spouse can whip up one of those great meals. Lastly we would for sure go to church on Sunday.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give all of this credit, thanks, recognition, etc. first off, to God because without him none of this would have ever been possible. The remainder of my thanks and praises go to my Family, they are my biggest support system. Starting with my spouse who sits up countless nights until I have successfully serviced all of my clients for that day. My mother Kathleen and sister T., they never fail to go above and beyond by promoting my work on all of their social media platforms. My first cousin and second cousins Miesha and CharLisa(RIH) who always gave me that next step advice. Lastly, to the remainder of my family for the consistent love and support since day one. I can’t thank you all enough.
