We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrianne Porcelli & Liana Matin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrianne & Liana, as parents, what have you done for your children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
There are a lot of advantages to raising kids in this digital world. Educational apps are at your fingertips. You can hop on Google to answer the existential questions that come out of your 3-year-olds mouth instead of thumbing through encyclopedias (remember those?). But there are disadvantages too. A person can be privy to other’s opinions about working moms, and a lot of them aren’t kind. “You should spend more time with your children.” “The tv shouldn’t be the babysitter.” We’ve heard them all. But as working mothers, we founded purpledoor marketing to show our children that with sacrifice, hard work and perseverance (and lots of time management), nothing can stop them from achieving their dreams. Which is why, at such a young age, our kids have already started dreaming about becoming the next great photographer, doctor, and lead singer for a rock band. Having dreams and working to achieve them has shown our children that, while setbacks will occur, and nothing happens overnight, Mommy works because she likes what she’s doing and she’s working hard to reach her goals.

What should our readers know about your business?
Purpledoor marketing provides full-service marketing and turn-key production to a variety of industries. Videos are quickly becoming the most effective way to reach audiences in the digital marketing arena and not many agencies can offer in-house production services. From logo design and print advertising, social media management to digital ad campaigns, we can also help with website design and SEO. I think one of the things that sets us apart is that we aren’t a niche agency. We don’t specialize in one industry and then proceed to churn out templates with a one-size-fits-all mentality. We dive deep and get to know our clients so that we essentially become their brand ambassador and effectively target their audiences with messaging that gets noticed. One of the things that has helped us with our business is that we have staggered our goals so that when we are hit with challenges and roadblocks (which is inevitable), it doesn’t completely defeat us. Keeping expectations realistic has helped us slowly build our business to a level that we can comfortably maintain and continue to provide personal service to our clients while also continuing to work to attain those 5, 10 and 15 year goals.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
We love taking friends and family that are new to Texas around the state. In North Texas, the Stockyards and Billy Bob’s are a must. There’s just something about seeing cowboys and longhorns sauntering past you on cobblestone streets that is just unforgettable. And you can’t leave before riding a mechanical bull. It’s the cowboy way. Joe T’s and Sundance Square are great for a lazy afternoon as well as visiting Fort Worth’s Botanic Gardens, The Fort Worth Zoo (which is always rated as a top zoo in the US), TCU’s campus and the Amon Carter Museum. The new Shops at Clearfork are incredible for outdoor shopping and amazing food. If we’re lucky, we always try to sneak in a show at Bass Hall. Fossil Rim in Glen Rose is a great experience for both the young and old and the drive is a great way to give visitors a good look at just how big the state is. Aside from that, Whataburger is a must and Dallas is great for shopping in Uptown and Northpark as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Texas Christian University played a large part in helping us home in on the career paths that we wanted our futures to follow. By providing hands on instruction and real-world scenarios, not to mention being the setting where we were introduced, TCU provided us with a foundation to be able to succeed in industries (marketing & video production) that are constantly evolving. Also, we’ve really been supported by the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce – since joining in January 2019, they have really been there to help spread the word about our business and connect us to the Fort Worth business community. But we truly would not be where we are today without the support, love and guidance from our respective spouses, parents, family and close-knit circle of friends.
