Hi Adeola, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process was to offer fresh and flavorful seasoning and sauces, that did not have the additives and fillers that are on the shelves.
What should our readers know about your business?
I have always been an avid cook and in 2012 I got diagnosed with high blood pressure diagnosis, which forced me to start examining what I put in my body. As I browsed store shelves, it seemed every “natural” marinade and seasoning was full of excess salt and potentially harmful fillers and preservatives lurking under unrecognizable names. Frustrated, but determined, I started building a seasoning blend based on the age-old Cajun Trinity of onions, bell peppers, and celery before discovering the tasty blend that now comprises his Cajun-Soul seasoning that became a fan favorite. So, my wife and I enjoyed the seasoning so much that we wanted other people to enjoy them as well and that’s how Addy Daddy Seasoning was born.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First we would go to Happiest Hour once they arrive for drinks and a quick bite. In the morning we would go to Saint Ann’s for brunch and then hang out at Clyde warren park. In the evening we head down to Deeep Ellum.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our family, friends, and customers have made this journey of running Addy Daddy Seasoning and sauce enjoyable. The review and words of encouragement mean a lot to us and the fact that we are helping people put flavor in their meals without the overload of salt and they can know what they are putting in their body. Last but not least our toddler boys, who approved every product we have released.
