We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Boehmer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adam, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success thus far would have to be customer relations. For me, this has been the most important thing, the communication. Along with this, the quality and curation of the items that end up on my depop shop. Without the combination, I don’t think I would have gained as much traction on my store as I have.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In regards to what sets me apart from every other small business is nothing really. I try my best to ship out items on time and get them to my customers as soon as I can. I think it is just important to support small business and not give in to fast-fashion and the massive industries that control the market. I think that shopping local, small, and diverse shops is a good idea for the community and world. I have had some challenges just because of the nature of selling on Depop. It is not always reliable as a way of selling vintage… but I have been able to sell some in person on my college campus which has been good. Business-wise, I got to where I am at today because I put some of what I make back into the business to replenish my stock and keep my store updated.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would say definitely Spiral Diner. They have the best vegan nachos and shakes I have ever had. Rinse and repeat that until it gets old haha. Maybe get some boba too.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say IG and the connections I have found through that. I have been able to see other people pursing what they wanted to do, whether it be for their full-time gig or on the side. I have been supported from the beginning from my girlfriend, Raegan, and her support has brought me stability and peace. She holds a lot of the business together and keeps me motivated! Also having a financial ledger has helped me track my sales and what I spend on replenishing my stock, shoutout my dad haha.
