We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron, do you have a budget?
Over time I have separated our personal family budget and the business budget. This is to help keep business decisions more focused on what is best for growth, not what is best for the short term family needs. I try to think about making investments not just purchasing. Does the purchase make back money and how quickly? When I create I am an artist, when I spend I am an investor. I must take off one hat to put on the other.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Soundofarose is about solving communication through audio. While I do a decent amount of work for films, commercials and TV, we are unique in that we have a lot of work in audio only media. The knee jerk reaction of our culture is that visual beats audio communication 10/10 times. However, this is simply not true. 1. Everyone has more time for audio. While an audio director at a very large church, I found that our audio content was consumed 2-5X at the rate of our video content. Why? Because people consume while commuting, while shopping, working out, doing yard work. Audio is just more accessible in a very busy world. 2. Everyone wants more money. It costs about 5k to produce a five minute video. It costs about $375 for a twenty minute podcast or audio teaching. Not to mention, you can get that audio produced in a day rather than weeks for a video. 3. Everyone wants to invest in something that lasts. If you have good content, why change it every 3 years? Have you watched a video from 5 years ago that wasn’t a six figure investment? Yeah, me neither.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
What husband wouldn’t thank his wife? My wife is the opposite of me in many ways making her insight very helpful. I go to her with all my ideas and she patiently endures hearing one bright idea after another. If it was not for her, I wouldn’t know what is actually worth pursuing and what is worth letting go of.
