We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Spellious and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
True Nails was designed with the concept in mind of the general public. The community needed a state certified, medically trained and specialized nail salon EVERYONE could feel safe and their needs met. One on one personal nail experiences is what True Nails is all about with one concept in mind; you! Why? Because True Nails cares.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I went from being an every month client at your local nail salon to realizing immediately that I could do it better. That I would have a more professional, cleaner environment in a safe space for all clientele; in one nail salon. My integrity for being a professional salon owner has given me great insight for the decisions I’ve made for the salon and my clients. We have always done this together. Without them there is no me, True Nails. I take pride in listening. To their desires for a safe salon and giving them what they want and need has been a great success. They love and appreciate the extra miles I’ve taken or decisions I’ve made for the business. I will continue as always to listen to my client. You clients are always right!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
You have to really know me but I’m very artistic. I like to find the beauty in everything around me. With that being said I can more than likely be found entertaining in Deep Ellum. The “old Deep Ellum” and now the new. We would eat food at a cute, quaint restaurant, perhaps window shop at some of the adorable boutiques, maybe even ride a scooter around downtown until we can catch a happy hour at yet again another Deep Ellum speak easy bar for a classic craft cocktail. I like comfortable environments where I can be myself and enjoy people of like minds. Of course there’s much more to Dallas then Deep Elum but I know for a fact we would start there.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shout out credit goes all to my loyal clients, supportive friends and nail affiliates. Without such support, understanding, and loyalty True Nails could not have grown into the community nail center it has. Everyone’s great reviews, recommendations and referrals has made True Nails the award winning salon it is.
