We had the good fortune of connecting with Suzanne Paiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Suzanne, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always knew I wanted to have my own business, and I also knew how important it is to believe in your product in order to be able to sell it. That’s when the idea of affordable jewelry came to me. I love accessories but fashion trends change so fast now days. I found the solution: Affordable accessories for everyone!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Even thought Pink Shel is only a year old (I am actually celebrating my anniversary right now!), I did not expect to be where I am. I loved the idea of starting a hobby that would generate a little extra income for me, so I jumped on it without having too high of expectations. Pink Shell has taught me so much but the one lesson I wish to share is that you are your biggest competition. I proved myself wrong without even knowing that I needed to prove myself wrong. Now I know I shouldn’t limit myself without trying.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Denton, tx – a very small but very diverse town thanks to the 2 universities and 1 community college in town. One of my favorite places in town is the Downtown Square. There is always something to do there: delicious food, live music, small businesses, and yummy desserts. My top two picks are the brisket queso and parmesan fries from LSA and the Bees Knees ice cream flavor from Beth Marie’s (it’s like our own Blue Bell). Denton was also recently graced with our very own Buccees gas station! If you haven’t been, you wouldn’t get it. Another great thing about Denton, is that you’re a short 30-45 minute drive away from everywhere else in the DFW. I love walking around Deep Ellum in Dallas and looking at all the cool murals. If I’m ever in town, I always make a stop at Jade & Clover (because I’m a plant lover) and also Serious Pizza is a must! If you’re more into latin food – and music – my go to place is Gloria’s in addison. It is also conveniently located about 7 minutes from Galleria Mall! What a better day then shopping and churrasco? On the opposite side of DFW, is the stockyards in Fort Worth. I love the western vibes in Fort Worth. One of my favorite places to visit is Joe T Garcia’s outside gardens. Like I mentioned before, I am a plant lover, so when I visit here I love walking around their fountains and gardens. I love Texas, and I really like how diverse the DFW is. Whatever your interest is, there is something for you here.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I could not have started this business by myself. The first person I want to thank is my husband, Diego! He listens to all my crazy ideas and wild dreams and he supports me 100%. Secondly, my very good friend Gaby Pineda has been such a great influence. She’s a wedding photographer and we have found a way to support each other’s businesses and dreams. Last but not least, my friends and family that have continued to show up for me and my business. They each form a part of the amazing support system that I was blessed with.
