We had the good fortune of connecting with Finny John and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Finny, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Overall, the most important factor behind my success within my photography business was staying consistent in everything I do. Early on in my career I had to force myself to practice editing, shooting, lighting, etc. nonstop on a daily basis until I found a formula that I considered to be the most efficient for workflow as well as helping me gain knowledge.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe my art is constantly changing due to the fact that I am always seeking new ways to create. I dislike to stay stagnant and focus too much on one thing.

Even though it might take years for me to drastically change my style, I still push to find new elements and perspectives all for the sake of happiness and not risk creative blocks. I try my best to capture emotions, implement stories, create out of the ordinary looks, and more. Overall, I would say my main goal is to inspire as many generations as possible with my work.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite spots in Dallas would be the ATT Discovery district, simply because it feels like a slice of NYC. Deep Ellum for the variety of restaurants it has to offer. Also my favorite places to eat at would be Mikes Chicken and Fachini!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shoutout all of the friends who I have met through social media. Whether they live on the other side of the world or in the same city as me, they all contributed to my success through inspiration for photography and overall friendship. I believe that like-minded people are meant to eventually meet one time or another in life. I’m truly grateful for these type of people.
