We had the good fortune of connecting with Klaudia Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Klaudia, what makes you happy? Why?
Dogs, food, moon watching, Pinterest, and target makes me happy. But when I create my products, it makes me even happier. Having something so small, in bits and pieces then creating it into something whole. Watching the process of the product to then using the product. When I hear positive reviews and the customer’s excitement for my products, it fills my heart with warmth. Especially having customers walk up to my vendor booth at business events telling me “Hey I follow you on tiktok! OMG I love your products!” , it’s the best feeling.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started glossy as a hobby, I have always made my own products, but I thought why not try lip gloss? Here we are going on two years in April, an actual business. I knew a bit about business development, but I never truly knew what it was like until I was actually doing it. My mom guided me through business taxes, accounting, sales, and etc.

I’ve learned so many lessons my first year, I had to get better with prioritizing. It wasn’t easy at first. I highly recommend a dry erase board, a planner, and using reminders on your phone! It is your holy grail for running a small business.

There are many cosmetic businesses, but what sets me apart from others is I personally research the ingredients that go into my products to ensure that they are all natural, no chemically infused ingredients, and to produce a product that is safe for all skin types. My family and I personally use my products to confirm they are safe.

Glossy is a small business that was brought up from an idea, if you have something that you want to do, I say put your mind into it! Do it! Don’t hold back, because you never know what is going to happen on your journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Brunch at the biscuit bar in Arlington, great food and mimosas Make our way to downtown Dallas and visit the galleria to do a few shopping
Visit the bishop arts district for a few bar hopping and more shops
Make reservations at XOXO dining in deep ellum
And end our night in uptown Dallas at The Clover Club

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my family who have encouraged me into building my business and helping me along the way. Their support motivated me into turning a hobby into a small business. My mom has helped me with assistance and business questions. My dad has helped with pointing me into the small business community. My brother helps me with my product pictures. Overall, my family has played a major part in helping building glossy into what it is now.

I would also like to shoutout my friends & those who I have met along the way, the people who pointed me into the right direction. The small business community is very broad and you meet many people in your path. Everyone’s support and kind words comfort me, also by pushing me into establishing glossy.
