Meet Jon Lambert | Video Producer & Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jon Lambert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jon, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When I first started out, I was all about being ambitious and rising to the top quicker than anyone. Every position I’ve ever held has turned into a supervisory or management position because of it. Over time, I learned that my focus should be on the work that makes me satisfied and happy. Now I don’t worry about being so competitive, but rather spending time on what matters. Life is short, why spend it burning out?

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am definitely in the camp of people who believe you can make a living doing something you love. My career essentially started out when I learned how to create rave flyers in Photoshop in the late 1990s. From that point, I was hooked on making sure whatever I did for a living was in the creative realm. This meant that it wasn’t going to be easy. I could have had a stable job doing coding or IT, but being creative for a living means always having to ride the next wave. I love producing video and all of the skills and tools that go along with it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A great spot for a weekend evening would be Trinity Groves for some culinary variety and great views of the city. You definitely have to hit up Deep Ellum on a Saturday and walk around. For some exercise, try out Katy Trail over in the Uptown area or head to White Rock Lake.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give a shoutout to the Dallas Culture Club. @dallascultureclub For the last few years, we’ve been able to interview and feature several interesting people in the Dallas area, while getting a chance to utilize my video production skills.
