We had the good fortune of connecting with Madeline Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madeline, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Big picture: I’ve always felt that music is our universal love language, it connects us despite differences. I like to think photography/art is close behind music in that it connects and portrays emotion the same. I hope my contribution to create inspires anyone else to try it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I hope that my photos portray warmth and light. I truly try to create imagery that makes you feel the emotions in the photo, like a ticket back in time to it.

It took me 5+ years to establish my business and shooting style today, and I’m excited for the mystery of what’s ahead. So much of my success has depended solely on the fact that I kept going, I kept learning, I kept feeling. It’s never easy, but it’s vital to success. Skill level only takes you so far, drive will get you there. I’d love for the world to know that it’s ok to not fit into a box, it’s actually a gift. Photography has taught me so.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d check us in at Hotel Drover, we’d eat at Joe T’s, XOXO dining room, + Gemelle. Shopping & massages at Milk and Honey- Clearfork, coffee and breakfast at the Biscuit Bar, hat shopping at Wide Brim, and then I’d love to see the Immersive Van Gough exhibit in Dallas!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
As cliche & corny as it is, My husband, Jesse! He’s helped me through many Lightroom software breakdowns, held my bride’s gowns through mud for the sake of my shot, traveled long late hours across TX for road trip weddings, he’s been such great support through the entire evolution. He’s believed in me when I’ve struggled to & it’s a big part of where I am today. Entrepreneurship is as challenging as it is rewarding, so I’m truly grateful for his support.
