We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Norwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to do something to help other small businesses and entrepreneurs because I know how tough it can be when it comes to getting your brand out there. So I came up with Chic which is an acronym for Create Help Inspire Change a magazine dedicated to promoting & encouraging entrepreneurship

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m most proud of Chic winning an award for favorite magazine of 2017 it was such a great moment in my career that made me feel like all the blood sweat and tears I had put in was worth it. What sets Chic apart from others is that we are more so geared towards small businesses and entrepreneurs. It’s not all about celebrities but more so a chance to give brands the exposure they deserve. Being a single mom of 3 kids is what made things challenging for me as I was going through divorce only a few weeks after I started my business but to be honest my dream is what got me through those hard times because I knew I had something to prove. What I want the world to know about Chic Society Magazine is that it’s more than a magazine we’re all family.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot in Dallas is Main Event . I love the drinks I love the food and the best part is it’s kid friendly. I can hang with my friends while my teenage children go bowl , play laser tag & arcade games it’s literally a one stop shop.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Sabrina Jones who is my publicist and business partner. We’ve known each other a few short months but she has kept going at times that I wanted to give up. She is humble and a great all around person I couldn’t ask for a better team mate.
