We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Hubbard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve been a professional personal stylist for 4 years. After I finished my masters degree in business management I knew I wanted to start my own company. I got engaged in 2019 and immediately thought “okay I need I get a wedding dress and rehearsal dinner dress”. I quickly realized I needed so many more outfits for the engagement season. From engagement parties, showers, bachelorette, wedding weekend, and honeymoon after, there are so many looks that go into making a perfect wedding wardrobe. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, especially during covid, so I wanted to help take the stress out of getting dressed during this exciting time!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m so excited about My Wedding Wardrobe, because we are currently the only *online* professional personal styling company for brides. We style for everything except the wedding dress *- think engagement portraits, showers, bachelorette party, etc.* and it is definitely a new segment in the wedding industry. I want the world to know that my mission is to help women feel their most confident, beautiful self for all the events leading up to their big day. This is such a special time for people and I want to help make it perfect for them!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely love this city and all the amazing things to do and places to eat! I’d have to take them to my two favorite restaurants, Javier’s and Shinsei on Friday and Saturday night. Saturday during the day we’d probably take my dog for a walk on the Katy Trail then swing over to Katy Trail Ice House for a burger on the patio. Of course, being a personal stylist we’d have to go by Highland Park Village to do some shopping and enjoy a cocktail at Monkey Bar at some point!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a special thanks to my husband, parents, and brother. They encouraged me to take a leap of faith and start my own company. They have supported me through all my crazy ideas and always cheer me on in everything I do. I wouldn’t be anywhere without them!
