We had the good fortune of connecting with Lance Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lance, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Keeping it extremely simple. We have one wildly important goal with our podcast: share the everyday experience through stories, We believe that everyone has a story to tell and often times we look past the ordinary, everyday things that connect us. We also believe that when people hear other artists, business owners and creatives sharing their journey it can inspire people to take that next step.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think my story is unique because without one part of my art, I would not have the other. I actually auditioned for a radio spot and did not get it, shortly there after the podcast was born. Its Probably You Podcast became my way of sharing my story and getting to connect with others. In order to grow your show, you need to have a social media presence. I was using my iPhone and decided I wanted to get more artistic with the photos I was taking, not just for the podcast but in general. I ended up with a concept that landed in Fort Worth Magazine. That was the moment I knew that I had something special. I decided to take virtual classes, practice like crazy and continue to grow my craft. I think of the podcast as my voice and the photography as my mind but both are a form of art.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This right here is my type of question! We would be spending most of our time on Magnolia Ave, the Foundry District and River East. I’d have to take them to my favorite coffee shops: Arcadia Coffee Shop, Black Coffee, Cherry Coffee Shop & Race Street. If they are more into tea, then we will make our way to Leaves Tea & Book shop. We would need to spend some time on the Trinity taking photos of course. I would also need to take them to Sundance because thats just what you do! We would be doing Brunch at Brewed, Salsa Limon, Fixed Southern Kitchen, Taco Heads and HG Supply Co. For lunch, we would be making our way to the Bodega on South Main, Panther City BBQ, Nickel City and Funky Picnic. Dinner would have to be at Reata, Wabi House, or CoCo Shrimp. If they just wanted to drink and thats it… Nickel City, Funky Picnic, Panther Island Brewing, Wild Acre and Southside Cellars. Just to name a few….

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I could shoutout so many people who have been a big influence on me. I would actually like to start with recognizing all of my first guest during the 3rd season of the show. Crystal Wise, Carley Marstellar, Val Jean & Nicole Terral. They all took a chance on the show and set the tone for what we are now.
