We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Chatterton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, can you talk us a bit about why you love what you do?
I love what I do because I get to take all my influences and put them into one spot. My new brand “Kids’ Table”, is a streetwear brand where I can take everything that has influenced me in my life and showcase it to the world. From action figures and cartoons, to music and sneakers. Kids’ Table has allowed me to have fun with what I do and not take things so serious. I want to share this feeling with the world; a sense of nostalgia and freedom.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My brand allows me to have fun with my work. I get to look at old action figures and watch cartoons because I use these things as references. I named my brand Kids’ Table because that’s where the fun is. A lot of these new brands are dark and serious so I wanted to pivot from that and go in a new direction. I have started other brands in the past, but I think Kids’ Table is one I want to stick with for a long time. I can take the knowledge that I have acquired through all those previous experiences and put it all into my brand. I used to try and put out what was trendy, but I want to be known for my original designs. I want to make sure every detail is accounted for. From the tags, to the packaging. My first drop was called the “Monday Night Tee” and it was based on how I would watch wrestling every week as a kid. I did a photoshoot in a real wrestling ring, got an action figure made, and every shirt comes in an action figure style box. I think people will appreciate the attention to every detail and I want this to carry throughout all my designs.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I stay in the HEB area so the first place I’d probably take them to Lushaj’s pizza and pasta in Euless. The staff is great and the pizza is even better. Occasionally I like drive out to downtown Dallas, so maybe I’d hit Northpark and Mockingbird Station to do some basic shopping. While we’re out there I’d take them to some cool sneaker shops like Laboratory DTX or Nollege. For some nostalgia I’d take them to Retro Madness in Hurst; they sell a bunch of vintage action figures and video games. It’s really cool to go visit, it’s almost like museum. That about sums up some of my favorite spots in the area. I don’t go out much, but I’m always willing to check out some new things.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My first shoutout I would like to dedicate to my family. They are always extremely supportive and are always willing to help no matter what it may be. They just want to see me win, and I am forever grateful. My second shoutout I would like to dedicate to my friends Wesley, Tarik, and Billy. We are always shooting ideas back and forth at each other and I can trust them to give me honest feedback. We aren’t afraid to tell each other if something sucks which goes a long way with me. They are involved in every part of my design process.
