Meet Duce BlaQue | Recording Artist and Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Duce BlaQue and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Duce, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The 5 P’s! Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. I have found that if an event or job has proper preparation things just seem to fall in place. No stress just hard work.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The one thing I wish I knew back when I was 18-19 doing this is what I know now and will constantly live by and I’m sure you will hear me say it again, Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. I used to just record music put it on wax and hit the streets. Yea I made money and kept the bills paid but I could have made way more if I had planned properly. I have always been a huge fan of anything NWA, Twista, Pac, UGK, and ZRo. Combined I used to entertain crowds with comical lyrics and a twist of the street life I was introduced to. I experienced a ton of loss and having to readjust my life because of it turned my music around and now I am heading more in the direction of story telling. The Rise Of The Beast.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I like to travel so we probably would go everywhere. Love to eat so we picking like 5 places off Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in every city we go to. Then we would probably stay in a different hotel every night so we can take the little shampoos and lotions 😉 We would definitely go check out a few live performances. I dont shop much so they can have that part…lol!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First all praises to the most high and creator of all his perfections. We are perfectly created in his image. Secondly my Grandmother Lucille for giving birth to my mother Regina Cunningham who taught me there is no such thing as NO! There is a yes in everything you just have to know how to get to it. Rest in peace to her beautiful soul. Thirdly, my father for setting the example of a hard working black man and displaying consistency. Fourthly the support system of friends and family that have stood behind me no matter the struggles no matter the time frame; to name a few, Amelia Douse the Director of Operations for my company PSPMG, Demarco Majors, my life coach and blood relative on my fathers side always reminding to stop procrastinating and get it done. Chasity Russell aka ChooChoo Bang, my best friend and also the mother of my youngest son. My close friends, family and artist affiliates, Xavier Hicks, DSmooth, Adrienne LaShe, Alex Royal, NativeGod Takeo, AC, Tex Da Nerd King, Dre BlaQ, my big sisters, Diana Ennis, Sharon Kimbrough, and a ton of others but we dont have all day. My street team Atavia Bryant, Ty Bryant, Jolie Rashawn, and the whole OTTO TEAM! Lastly I want to thank my children Ke’Don Kimbrough and Arielle Kimbrough. My children motivate me to leave behind a legacy for them to remember me by. My children are my energy boost when I feel like giving up. They are my biggest fans.
