We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Boyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m a country girl from Center, TX, about three hours east of Dallas, and I currently live in Lancaster, TX. I actually have a background in baking, with my Grandmother Irene. She had me at Her side in the kitchen when She prepped and baked desserts. My Grandmother “Mu” taught me how to make cakes from scratch, ONLY! No boxes or mixes EVER! She taught me so thoroughly that our family could no longer tell which of us baked which desserts. I’m so grateful for Her; and to this day, some of our family STILL won’t believe I was the baker, but I know the TRUTH! Lol! The funny thing is, we never made cheesecakes, which is another reason why I was glad to invest in the baking classes I took.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is my passion to help enrich others! We’re here to make a difference, leaving a trail of people that are better because of knowing us! I am most proud of my Son! He helps me bake, He’s an Honor student, intelligent, intuitive, mature, and just an awesome young Man; I can’t be prouder! I am excited that He has gotten to watch much of my journey, because it has not been easy. My story is twisty, like many others. I’ve always known I wanted to help Humanity, but the means changed a few times, along with my major in college… I began as a nursing major, but later had a burning desire to become a beacon of light for future generations; so I changed my major to education. Fast forward a few years, I graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with my first Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education; but I realized I still had a burning passion for healthcare, as well as the fact that the lifestyle I wanted to provide for my newly born Son and myself required a bit more income than I would generate from teaching. I decided to pursue my passion, once again: I graduated as an LVN and am currently serving as LVN; I’m currently a student, completing coursework to become a RN; I’ve launched a successful and very blessed small business, and I believe that God has much more work for me to do! I consider myself a Survivor and a Thriver, and I want to encourage You to pursue Your passions! The world needs what’s in You!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Listen… This is my favorite question because as a single Mompreneur, having time for an adult social life is not always an easy feat. I had to really think about this, because pre and post-pandemic look similar for me, socially. I’m super spontaneous with my Friends, because we understand each other’s busy schedules, so I thought it best to include some fun places I’ve been, as well as a few I plan to visit soon! p.s. LADIES: These are some GREAT places to meet nice successful Men!!! See You there…!
