We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Steponaitis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I view risk as an uncomfortable and unknown opportunity. Not all risks are created equal. Some will yield invaluable results and others may become failures. The question in starting and reinventing my fitness business several times was always this:

What would be the best possible outcome if I succeed and worst outcome if I fail? If you are able to pick yourself up with the worst outcome then the risk of going for your dreams may be something worth fighting for.

I’ve always been the person to jump in right when I wasn’t sure If I was ready- similar to jumping out of an airplane for the first time. The experience is terrifying and exciting. With risk,  You learn and grow as you go. You get into the mess, fail forward and celebrate each small success.

This is how I’ve been able to start a successful brick and mortar womens fitness studio. Scared out of my mind but hopeful for the future. This is also how I made the difficult decision for myself and my growing family to shut down my successful studio and reinvent myself as a private in home studio owner and online fitness network marketer. This risk gifted me the opportunity to stay home with my children but still grow my business substantially. Where I cut costs in employees, rent space lease, etc, I made up for in authentic connections within my community, the ability to grow in the online space and have more time shared with my family.

Risk can be messy. It is rarely given to you all wrapped up in a nice gift box. You have to own your truth and be confident enough to fail forward until you get it right.

Cheerfully, Andrea Steponaitis

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a womens fitness expert and own a private women’s fitness studio in Argyle, Texas. I am also an online fitness coach through Beachbody. I specialize in weight loss, pre and postpartum fitness, and creating fat burning workouts for busy working women in under 30 minutes or less. This is a unique space for women to feel safe, supported, motivated and driven to obtain realistic, life changing results.

Working with me whether in home or online you will quickly find that there is no judgement. My goal has never been to turn you into someone you don’t want to be- rather to find the person within you that you are looking for and bring her out! We are not defined by that silly number on the scale. My approach is to help you become the healthiest version of yourself through realistic methods and have fun while doing it.

I’m most proud of how I have been able to change, adapt and grow my small business to fit each season in my life. To stay resilient in life and in business. In this season as a mom flexibility is important to me. I have been able to find ways to keep some flexibility in my career and personal life which has helped me be a better business owner, wife and mom.

My story/brand is always transforming as you’ll see with my transformation butterfly on my studio walls.

Always authentic, always supportive. I want every aspiring mompreneur to understand that your story should be heard and does have a space in this world. Do not allow self limiting thoughts stop you from where you want to go. You have a purpose, show up for it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As a female entrepreneur I think aligning yourself with a supportive group of other female entrepreneurs is a large part of staying successful. Being able to support one another, give positive feedback, constructive suggestions or joining forces in the community to support one another’s efforts is so helpful.

My best friend Shyloh Winfield has also reinvented her business career in the past few years. It is such an empowering feeling to have a friend who understands your vision and to also watch them do the same. She is now a Franchise Owner of Hotworx Denton, Texas.

Nicki Gazlay is also another amazing mompreneur and local hair stylist in Argyle, TX. She is a true southern spitfire who has a superhuman talent with women’s hair! She currently works out of Salon 377 in Argyle, Tx.
