We had the good fortune of connecting with Benjamin Patel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Benjamin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
After moving to the Dallas area in 2018, I began by working a job that was slowly making me realize that I am not meant to work for someone else. I jumped into a job that pushed me out of my comfort zone managing the creation of media and spread of it via social networks to help the company I was working for grow. After about a year I found an opportunity at a local dealership that I acted upon. After several months of working at this hectic dealership, I realized that working for people that don’t appreciate your time is not worth it. I decided to take on clients full-time for weddings, automotive photography, portraits for almost any occasion shortly after coming back from visiting my family in Alabama in February 2021. Family is more important to me than working a 9-5 in any environment. They are my motivation to continually improve and make sure my quality of life only goes up from here!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is mostly the automotive content I create. The automotive industry has always been a part of my heart as I am beyond passionate about automotive history and the vehicles that have been produced over the last 100 years. I am proud that in such a short time of being in the DFW area, that I have achieved more than most who have been here for 10+ years in the industry. I came here thinking Dallas/Texas was a land of opportunity, and IT IS. Your life is exactly what you make of it. I have been working nonstop, and don’t plan on stopping until I can achieve the goals I have set for myself. I have pushed through plenty of obstacles just to be told no on many occasions. Never give up and keep a good heart!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in Plano definitely has its perks. Many of my friends that have stayed with me always want to start the week off with going to a gun range(most are great!) We are surrounded by tons of food, normally a good BBQ meal is up next. Love taking friends to some of the Korean BBQ places near as well! Normally we cook food at home and go to several places downtown(mainly bars in Deep Ellum/Uptown). I love concerts which obviously haven’t been a thing this past year, but excited for those to come back!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am at today if it wasn’t for several people in my journey. My family has especially supported me in the moves I have been making in life. In the short few years I have been getting my name out there, the local car community, especially those involved with Park Up Front, have always been helpful to me getting exclusive shoots and content to make my name known. All of my friends who have been there from the beginning, Landen(@landenpk), Michael(@myqmedia), Artie(@wwwgoldman) and many many more who have helped push me to be my best self. Thank you!
